Certificates & Diplomas
Move from theory to mastery with a nationally recognised qualification
Looking to lead?
Diploma of Project Management
(BSB50820)
Our online Diploma will cover all the skills required to lead a project from beginning to end.
This qualification is related to roles like Project Manager or Project Lead. It is also suitable for team leaders and managers who want to extend their skills to manage projects.
You will be asked to lead a team on a simulated project for a federal government agency. A series of practical exercises will guide you through each stage of the project. You will build documents such as Project Plans, Risk Registers and Quality Management Plans. You will consider challenging scenarios related to commercial management and people leadership.
By exploring this one project as it evolves over time, you will be able to fully explore some of the subtler aspects of leading projects that a theory-only course cannot teach.
Looking for recognition of existing skills?
Recognition of Prior Learning is available
If you are already working in a project environment, and can demonstrate your experience to be recognised with a nationally recognised qualification.
QTC offers Recognition of Prior Learning for project management qualifications from Certificate IV level through to Graduate Diploma. Our team will provide a detailed RPL Kit and guide you through each step of the process.

What was involved in the RPL process for you?
I was doing the Diploma with my team. We had four full-day workshops. For the assessment we could each choose whether to do the online activities or Recognition of Prior Learning. I’ve been leading projects for a few years, so I chose RPL.
Mary gave me an Excel document that explained everything I needed to send through. I got all the documents together and submitted them. There were a few gaps where I couldn’t find the right information.
Mary came back a few days later. She said I’d covered most of the criteria, but had about 40 to go. She asked me to write two short essays to finish off the last criteria. Then, after that, we had a half hour phone call and she asked me a few questions.
How long did it take to collect all the evidence?
The first collection probably took me about 4 hours. And then writing the essays was around 1 hour.
Was the process difficult?
No – it was straightforward. And it only took a little over two weeks to get everything finished.
